Special Olympics 2009

I just had one of the best experiences yesterday! I got the chance to go to Bogus Basin to cheer for the special Olympians. I never knew how much fun it would be to stand out in the cold. It was so great! Just seeing there faces when they were skiing down the hill was tear jerking. They just glowed. It just amazed me how good they are. I have a new appreciation for the Olympians and the people that support them! Before we got off the bus we all got matching hats and when we got there and were cheering and everything, a lot of people from the other countries wanted to know where we got them and how they could get them. It was a great environment. The love that was going around was just contagious!

This is my beautiful cousin Hailee and i when we just arrived.

This is some of the scenery up there at Bogus it was very pretty.

This is a picture of us and some of our friends from Finland. The cute boy in the front was so amazing when we were done taking the picture he gave us all a big hug and told us he loved us! Then later he saw us and ran over and gave us a hug again.
Here we are with some kind people from Great Britian. Then guy insisted on holding my flag then when i let him he was like ha ha i have two and ours is bigger!
This is us and a really nice guy from Ireland. We totally loved his hat!
This us and some of the Olympians and their trainer from Japan. He was so cute he was saying stuff to them in Japanese and they would laugh.
This us and a really cute guy from Monoco. He was counting how long it took us to take pictures with all 4 of our cameras. It was so hilarious.

I had the time of my life. We met alot more people from more countries like France, Austria, CSM (not sure what it stands for), Croatia, Germany, India, and Canada. They were all wonderful and the kids were just a joy. This is a day i will NEVER forget.

An Answer To The Question

Everyone (especially boys) always ask me, Shelby why do you cry so much. How can you be so emotional. wow I've never met anyone who cries that much. How can you cry that much, don't your tears ever run out! but i have now found the answer to the question. This is a Quote by Alex Tann:
"Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in a while, so that we can see life with a clear view again."

That is a good enough reason for me. But not only do you see clear again, crying actually makes me feel a lot better! i know that is hard to believe but i honestly feel so much better after i cry and freak out for a while. Now you all know:)

Young Women Winter Camp

Well as you can tell we had a lot of time on our hands till breakfast. And lets just say Kim has the best toy room on the block! We spent a lot of time in there, you just never ran out of cool toys.
There were Mickey and Hulk fights. And as you can see Mr. Potato head dress ups.

Kim had tons of potato heads. So Jessica, Kirstine, and I each made our own Mrs. Potato heads. It was crazy fun.

Jessica playing that new cool video game for kids. Her and Alexis had a bunch of fun playing it, and also got their workout! (like they needed it.)

The night consisted of would you rather games, eating so much junk food you want to puke, running down the street at 2:00'clock an the morning, watching movies, playing in the toy room, and just talking and getting to know each other a little bit better. I had such a good time and i love all the girls in my ward very much! Winter Camp all the way!

P.S. Anyone who did fall asleep got the consequence of getting fingernail polish art on them!

Great Things And Setting Goals!

These are some great things I want to accomplish and what I have accomplished! (Setting Goals are very important and I'm going to start doing it.) So here's a little bit of both...
  1. Pick a major... It feels like everyone of my friends know what they want to do but me.
  2. Someday I'd like to write a book.
  3. I think one of my Great accomplishments is my cousin Hailee and I. We would always fight when we were younger, and now we get along amazingly I love her very much.
  4. I'm very good at being Creative.
  5. I have Self-Confidence.
  6. Having a good School year that would be great!
I'm sure there are a ton more but this is good for now.
